The presentation will discuss the role of rituals in helping individuals, families and communities to commemorate and grieve a loss. Similarly, if there are no rituals what are the effects on the grieving process and what occurs when deaths occur following COVID or MAID.

Carrie Arnold is an Assistant Professor of Thanatology at King' s University College. She has also worked as a counsellor for 20 years, providing support to those dealing with grief, loss, and trauma.
Her research examines various facets of death, loss, and bereavement. While attempting to better understand both the universal, and unique experiences of loss, there is an specific emphasis on ways of maintaining wellness and resiliency amidst adversity.
