The OACFP is reaching out to all those who experienced a death during the COVID-19 pandemic to invite you to take part in a 15-minute survey on funeral arrangements & your grief experience.  This survey is the part of the research project, “Understanding the Canadian Way of Death by advancing and strengthening innovations in services, rituals and human resources in Ontario's post COVID-19 Bereavement Sector,” to help identify and evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on the industry’s practices and consumers. The anonymous, online survey is available to individuals in Ontario who either organized, attended, or were invited to attend a funeral of a loved one during the pandemic. We’re also interested in hearing from any person over the age of 19 about their plans for their own funeral. Findings will be used to help improve services to bereaved families and adapt teaching curricula for students in funeral services across Canada.

Please fill out the survey here. This should only take 15 minutes. If the hyperlink does not work, try this link:

For the Public

Most of us do not want to face or even discuss our final arrangements. However, in today’s fast paced world filled with unlimited options and choices, the decisions that face us all at the time of a loved one’s death can have immediate and long-lasting impact, both financially and emotionally. The Ontario Association of Cemetery and Funeral Professionals (OACFP) is Ontario’s only unified bereavement sector association with members who are committed to the highest level of ethical service for Ontario’s bereaved families.

The options facing you and your family at the time of loss, or today if you chose to pre-arrange, are numerous. From traditional religious services with traditional burial and memorialization to celebrations of life or alternative services with alternative means of memorization, OACFP members are there to assist you in your choices.
